Our Commitment to Child Safety

Every child has the right to feel safe, be heard and be treated with dignity

CHILD SAFETY COMES FIRST

A clear promise from our leadership

Concept Care is committed to providing services and environments where every child and young person is safe, respected, heard and supported. Child safety is a core responsibility in every decision we make, every person we engage and every support we deliver.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse and harm, including physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect, grooming, exploitation, violence, discrimination and harmful online conduct. Every concern, disclosure, allegation and complaint is taken seriously and acted on promptly.

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility. Our leaders are accountable for ensuring that safeguards are understood, applied, monitored and continuously improved.

OUR COMMITMENTS IN PRACTICE

How we make child safety real every day

Our public promise is supported by clear policies, capable people, child-centred practice and active oversight.

  • 1. Leadership and accountability

The Director champions a child safe culture, allocates resources and monitors compliance, risk and improvement.

  • 3. Families are involved

We communicate openly with parents, carers and advocates and invite their feedback on safety and service quality.

  • 5. Suitable, supported workers

Workers are screened, reference checked, inducted, trained and supervised. Required checks are verified before child-related work.

  • 7. Training before care

SSRC workers complete child-safety awareness and reporting training before providing care, with ongoing competency checks.

  • 9. Learning and improvement

We review incidents, complaints, feedback, near misses and audit findings, then verify that corrective actions work

  • 2. Children participate

Grow into senior roles, team leadership, or specialised care positions with clear development support.

  • 4. Equity and inclusion

We adapt support for disability, communication, culture, identity, age and trauma, with particular attention to increased vulnerability

  • 6. Child-focused complaints

Children and families can raise concerns safely, privately and accessibly without punishment or reduced services.

  • 8. Safe environments

Physical and online risks are identified and reduced while preserving children's privacy, development, choice and connection.

  • 10. Clear, accessible rules

Our policies and Child Safe Code of Conduct explain expected behaviour, prohibited conduct, reporting and consequences.
